“Toughness of Hockey: versus Football”
Who here has played football (in their life /H.S.)? In today’s society, football
is a very highly advertised/praised/desired sport. Eleven players, trying to run or
throw a ball to the opposite end of the field, great (sarcasm). Considering that
you’ve played football in your life, you probably never had the time to play a
, more exciting sport like Ice Hockey.
: Having played hockey since I was ten years old to about a
month ago and having played tackle football numerous times without equipment,
I’m going to prove to you that Ice hockey is a tougher sport then football.
: Ice Hockey is a sport that barely gets any recognition, but if it had nearly
as many fans/advertisements as football, it would be bigger then Football in the
world of sports.
Preview of Points
: Due to the NHL Lockout in 2004 (where the whole hockey season was
literally cancelled), there have been less people interested in Ice Hockey
: The more intensity loving
spectators/players (male or female, and
Yes I said female) involved with Ice Hockey, the bigger/faster the sport will
grow. More people will realize that hockey is a tougher sport then football
: Picture this, if you become a hockey fan
a football fan, like
myself, you can watch high speed, high intensity action from the month of
October all the way through the month of April, including playoffs. Now, picture
yourself actually playing the sport, as a professional, on television. This will help
you visualize and understand its dangers and difficulty
a lot more.
: (Do yourself a favor), try playing or watching hockey just once in your
life. Whether its kids/pros playing roller hockey or ice hockey, you’ll see for
yourself just how tough it is.
: Although hockey isn’t nearly as advertised as football, I strongly believe that
Ice Hockey is unquestionably --- a tougher sport ---- then football, and soon enough
you’ll know what I mean.
