Axia College Material Appendix E Create-A- Diet This activity demonstrates how to select a healthful food regime. Go to www.nhlbi.nih.gov/cgi-bin/ chd/diet.cgi to begin the activity. Select foods from a variety of choices and then review a report on how closely you were able to match your intake goals for saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, and calories. After analyzing the nutritional value of your typical daily diet, describe the areas in which you need improvement by answering the questions below. 1. Is your fat intake too high? My fat intake is beyond too high, I am over 87 grams over the total fat allowed for a single day. According to the worksheet I need to cut back to 25-25% a day. I never knew I ate that much fat, although I look at myself and realize I am not overweight, I suppose the food I eat tells a different

Much like my fats, I am beyond my caloric intake for the day, it suggests that I eat foods that are lower in fat which means a little bit more fruits and veggies and less junk. 3. What are the steps you could take to improve your diet? Create a diet based on this recent discover of my totally shocking high fat, high calorie diet. I am still amazed I haven’t had any issues even though I am active I am amazed that I haven’t gained a lot of weight. I could include more fruits, veggies, balance my meat and less bread.
