Select one of the topics below and read both articles that present opposing sides of the argument surrounding that topic. o Animal experimentation o Outsourcing o Media violence Answer the following questions in paragraphs of approximately 100 words demonstrating your critical and creative thinking skills. 1. Identify if the topic you chose, as presented by both articles, is a problem or an issue and explain what makes it a problem or an issue. If you believe the articles present both problems and issues, identify and explain what the problems are and what the issues are. I have selected Media Violence. I believe honestly this is not really an issue but more ofa problem. The problem with media violence in lies more along the lines with the parental control over the problem and them allowing their children and younger adults free reign over whatever they want them to see without any recourse to their actions. The issue is basically parents allowing their children to watch, and playing whatever they want to without any guidance and explanation as to what exactly they are getting themselves into. Parents are responsible for the actions of their children, the media have limited liability for the problem in my opinion. 2. Were the problems or issues expressed effectively? Describe how the problems or issues were or were not best expressed. I believe they were expressed effectively and even allowed me to expand my thoughts on the problem beyond what was listed. When we look a media violence, we have a tendency to blame the industry for all the issues and we have a slight problem in wanting to look within ourselves and the want to take natural responsibility for our own actions. I believe these issues could have been addressed more and the pressure should have been applied more in the direction of particular self responsibility then industry wide.
