The College of Business Written Communication Assessment Exam in IDS 390W and IDS 396W As part of the College of Business Administration’s assessment procedure, the two upper division graduation writing courses, IDS 390W and IDS 396W, are giving a WPA-like essay exam early in May. To prepare for the exam, you can review the study guides for the WPA exam ( http://www- rohan.sdsu.edu/~gwar/prep.html ) and the CBA Written Communication Rubric (attached). The CBA version of the exam will use a newspaper or magazine article and ask the student to write about the argument in the article, using the same or a similar prompt to the WPA: Craft a coherent essay (one that is not just a series of paragraph responses to the prompt) in which you respond (in an appropriate order, which may not be the order in which the prompt lists the components) to all the following components: Identify and provide a brief explanation of the author’s argument; describe and discuss two strategies that the author uses to support
