Psychology 101 Syllabus: Health Psychology Summer Session B, 2010 Lecturer: Michael Mrazek ( mrazek@psych.ucsb.edu ) Lectures: MTWR, 2:00 – 3:05 pm, Buchanan 1910 Office Hours: Thursday, 3:30 – 5:30 pm, Bldg. 429, Room 102 TA: Kim Mangel ( mangel@psych.ucsb.edu ) Office Hours: Wednesday, 10:00 – 12:00, Psychology 1308 Course Overview: This course is designed to provide you with a detailed and practical knowledge of many psychological and physiological factors that underlie health and illness. It will also provide you with an understanding of the current best practices for promoting optimal health. Class Website: The course website will be accessible through Gauchospace. Updates to this syllabus, grades, readings, and supplementary information will be posted. Readings : Links to pdf files of the supplemental readings appear on the class website. These readings are optional. Although only material presented in class will be tested on the exams, the recommended readings will help reinforce your understanding of the class material. There is no textbook for this course.
