None Important Structures: i Results and Discussions: First, a TLC of spearmint oil was taken along with its components (R)-Carvone, (R)-Limonene, and (1R,2R,4R)-dihydrocarveol. Then a few drops of spearmint were separated into its components by means of micro-chromatography with 1g of silica gel. The first two 2ml elutions were done with hexane, the next three 2ml elutions were done with 5% ethyl acetate/hexane, and the last three 2ml elutions were done with 10% ethyl acetate. A TLC plate was taken of each vial. Groups then combined their respective vials that contained a certain compound and each member then did a simple distillation to concentrate the compound and then IR of limonene was taken by me and of the other two by lab members.
