: Lab 10 Summary Got Protein? , In this lab we learned how to perform a Bradford protein assay a spectroscopic analytical procedure used to measure the . concentration of protein in a solution Our question of interest is how the protein concentration in milk varies depending on the differing . amount of fat within certain types of milk Our hypothesis is that the protein concentration will increase as the fat content in milk , . decreases as there will be higher concentration of protein relative to total volume as fat is taken out of the milk . The data gathered from our experiment are shown below Table 1 contains the concentrations of the prepared standards with . their corresponding absorbance values that have been corrected for dilution Table 2 contains the final concentration values for the three . samples of milk that were tested Table 1 Label Standard (mg/ml) Absorbance Corrected for dilution B(lank) 1x PBS 0 0 1 0.125 0.047 0.188 2 0.250 0.015 0.060 3 0.500 0.089 0.356 4 0.750 0.116 0.464
