Supplemental Prompt 8 Ethical principles and moral values have been, and seemingly always will be, divided by a hazy line. It is often difficult to discern what to do in situations where reasoning may be coerced by personal beliefs. How do we go about drawing this line into focus? It may be beneficial to maintain discrete moral principles in certain situations rather than be tempted to make hasty decisions under awkward circumstances. This is the basis upon which many politicians thrive; any hesitation in their decisions or the way they communicate makes people feel uneasy and consequently disapprove of the politician’s motives. Consider a renowned activist in the 1950’s whose voice was heard all over the world, Martin Luther King Jr. His “dream” was depicted in a famous address to the United States, and in doing so he illustrated his firm moral principle in maintaining equality for all. Many misinterpreted King as a black rights advocator; however four decades prior, Abraham Lincoln ensured these rights with the
