2 Reflection All my courses thus far have impacted my future in a positive way. This class helped me understand that human resource managers are involved with policies, laws, benefits and external relations. It will make me a stronger part of a team and a better leader. This class specifically has opened my eyes to new ideas and pathways that my future could hold. Human resource management actually covers more ground than I could have ever imagined. Prior to this course I understood that human resources management involved interaction between and employer and employee. Now I understand it covers a much broader range. As I look back on the past 10 weeks the topics that stand out to me are high performance work systems, communication, hiring, safety and health, and training. The first thing that I am taking away from this class is that hiring is an ongoing process in an organization. It is important for human resources management to create a strong job description that not only lists the details of the job, but lets the possible employee know the kind of atmosphere they will be working in. This job description may be the first impression you give a new employee. There is also a legal side to the hiring process. When we are part of an interview we must be careful not to ask illegal questions regarding such matters as religion,
