T AR103 February 17, 2009 The Producer The Role of the Producer For the nonprofit, Managing Directors or given titles of Executive Director. The main and important discrepancies are the fact that nonprofit organizations are producing a season of plays. 1. We first need to find material. The legal acquisition of productions. In amateur companies, it’s called a royalty fee. 2. Backers (Or investors) The point at which the producer is especially interested in convincing people any investment will be successful. 3. You need venues. You need a rehearsal space and performance space. These spaces are not one in the same. Two separate spaces need to be found. 4. Key personnel are the director and the Artistic Director. Very often the managing director and artistic director collaborate together. Designers are important artists as part of the process early on. The equivalent of investors in nonprofit orgs are the board of directors, which are a group of community members.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
