Mitchell Palmer-
May 4, 1872- May 11, 1936 He was an American layer and politician
the was responsible for the well-known Palmer Raids.
He was also known as
The
Fighting Quaker.
He was an Attorney General that was against socialists and
immigrants.
He had a campaign against the radicalism culminated in the Palmer Raids.
He also predicted a Communists overthrow of the US government but that did not hold
water.
Andrew Mellon-
March 24, 1855- August 27, 1937 He was a banker, industrialist,
philanthropist, art collector and Secretary of the Treasury.
He was a key participant in
many fundraising activities such as the American Red Cross, the National War Council of
the YMCA, the executive Committee of the Pennsylvania State Council of Nation
Defense, and the National Research Council of Washington.
He was appointed Secretary
of the Treasury and became a member of the Cabinet of Warren G. Harding in 1921.
At
this position he brought new ideas to the US Treasury including a new way of taxing and
the creation of the Federal budget.
