Harding- November 2, 1865-August 2, 1923 He was the American President from 1921 to 1923. In the 1920 election, Harding ran against Democrat Ohio Governor James M. Cox. This election would decide weather or not the progressive work of Woodrow Wilson administration or to revert to the laissez-faire approach of the William McKinley era. His main statement in the election was to Return to Normalcy. Andrew W. Mellon- March 24, 1855- August 27, 1937 He was a banker, industrialist, philanthropist, art collector and Secretary of the Treasury. He was a key participant in many fundraising activities such as the American Red Cross, the National War Council of the YMCA, the executive Committee of the Pennsylvania State Council of Nation Defense, and the National Research Council of Washington. He was appointed Secretary of the Treasury and became a member of the Cabinet of Warren G. Harding in 1921.
