Healthy Eating Plan Comparison 2 Healthy Eating Plan Comparison In the past I would never thought my eating habits were really bad. But in week one of this course while preparing to do the Healthy Eating Plan Assignment I found out differently. I did not consider how much fat, sodium, or sugar the foods I ate contained. I now find myself looking at nutrition labels and asking the wait staff in restaurants questions about the food served. In week one the MyPyramid Steps to a Healthier you recommendations based on an 1800 calorie diet I should be consuming six ounces of grain, two and a half cups of vegetable, one and a half cups of fruit, three cups of milk, and five ounces of meat and beans daily. These recommendations to date have not changed. When I inputted information into MyPyramid Tracker for the week one assignment I fell short on all five food categories of the food pyramid and when I say I fell short I missed the recommended amount by none to almost half except for the grains category I did consume 5.9 ounces a day or slightly less. For this assignment I found that my intake has increased in all the food pyramid categories except this time the grains category fell to around 4.5 ounces a day. Although my choices seem to be more on the healthy side now I still have to pay more attention to the choices I make.
