Week Three Assignment – Analyzing Credibility 2 Week Three Assignment – Analyzing Credibility Video Ads Wendy’s Ad The opinion created in the Wendy’s Ad is that Wendy’s Restaurant serves real food, never frozen or processed. There is a slant to the ad though the implication that the competition’s food is fake. The ad also implicates that we can tell that Wendy’s food is real just by the way it tastes. This is not credible Wendy’s hamburgers are square and just like their competition they serve food in mass quantities quickly and have their product delivered from a Wendy’s warehouse or processing center. Therefore, it would seem impossible for Wendy’s to not freeze their hamburger. This ad also raises the question “how can hamburger be fake?” The implication of “fake hamburger” does not coincide with what we know as true that hamburger is ground beef and beef comes from cows. Of course, this ad was paid for by Wendy’s and designed to persuade us to purchase Wendy’s food. Pedigree Ad The Pedigree Ad was paid for by Mars, Incorporated the makers of Pedigree Dog Food. This ad is designed to encourage consumers who own dogs to purchase Pedigree dog food. This ad implied that overweight dogs should be feed Pedigree Light dog food for a slimmer healthier pet.
