This handout provides details about the process of writing it, the timetable to do so, and how it will be graded. Why am I having you do this? Analysis and communication skills are high on the list of abilities employers in this field look for. Communication with the general public can be especially important. This assignment will help you refine those skills in the context of some of the most contentious issues in our society. What is the nature of the assignment? Global climate change is the conservation concern most often seen in the news. Your assignment is to learn more about it and prepare a brief (about 1000 words), non-technical document with three primary elements: 1) summary of the claims; 2) summary of possible concerns for conservation; and 3) evaluation of the claims and outlook for action.
