This course is also intended to develop knowledge and understanding of more advanced financial accounting principles and concepts. COURSE OBJECTIVES On completion of this course the students should be able to: a) apply knowledge and judgment of financial accounting and related subjects to the solution of accounting problems b) appraise and criticize current practices in the reporting of financial information c) prepare group financial statements to include a single subsidiary and possibly associated company or joint venture d) understand the limitations of these reports in portraying economic reality The student should also possess enhanced analytical and communication skills necessary for success in the world of business or any other endeavor. 1
