In the second column, write a brief description of that research method. In the third column, provide a situation when this method could be applied. Research Method Description Application Scientific method The body of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge. To be termed scientific, a method of inquiry must be based on gathering observable, empirical and measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning. A scientific method consists of the collection of data through observation and experimentation, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses. Scientific method is used to compare the strongest brand of paper towel by absorbing water on two different bands of paper towels to compare the different type of paper towels. The hypothesis is formed by examining the observations carful and makes an educated guess as to what the outcome might be. Case study method
