List five (5) restrictions and / or requirements for clothing in a chemistry laboratory: Always wear shoes and lab coats while entering the lab. . Sandals and shorts are not allowed. Safety goggles must be worn at all times while in the laboratory. Long hair must be tied back when you in the laboratory. No open body and not allowed to wear any lens contact. Loose clothing must be confined while in a laboratory. Your legs must be completely covered below the knee. 3. What is the proper way to dispose of broken glass? The proper way to dispose of broken glass is that broken glasses should be collected with a broom and dustpan and be put in white glass disposal box. 4. What steps should you take if the fire alarm sounds? It depends on the alarm warning, because there is two set of fire alarm sounds UOIT follow: initial set of fire alarm and final set of fire alarm. If it is an initial fire alarm then we need to stop what we doing in the laboratory and make sure everything turned off such as burners and any other flammable things and pack up and leave the lab room. If it is a final fire alarm then just leave the lab room immediately rather than worrying about shutting down the equipments and packing up your things. Also your make sure you use the proper way to exit from the building and always try to leave with your lab members. 5. What are the appropriate treatments for i) cuts and ii) minor burns? For cuts: take the medicine from the first aid box and apply to the person. For burns: wash with cold water for 15 to 20 minutes. If minor burn comes when the gloves are worn you should wash in cold water 5 to 10 minutes. ...
