Albuquerque, NM 87111 Dear Ms. Ross,  Mike Simpson has asked me to address your request of further specifications of the home office  deduction.  I am pleased to assist you and I will do my very best in providing you with adequate  information to make a decision on whether or not your home office is eligible for business  deductions.  Issue You contacted our office to research home office deductions in the context of your recent  business venture, Drapes by Georgia.   Facts The facts as we understand them are as follows: You, Georgia Ross, started up Drapes by Georgia  in 2010.  You go to client’s home to assist them in ordering the appropriate sized material and  selection for drapes; you then, sub contract out the drape order and installations to individual  contractors to have them professionally installed in the client’s home.  The home office, which is  in review for the home office deduction, consists of your spare bedroom in the front of your  residence where you perform all of your business tasks.  Tasks include: making customer  contacts, ordering drapes, and performing other administrative duties that are required by your  business.
