Art Department Art 206 Art Appreciation 3 hours Online Instructor: Josh Anderson Email: [email protected] Catalog Description: The study of art history principles through painting, sculpture, architecture, etc. Prerequisites : None Text : Gil bert’s Living with Art eighth edition. http://highered.mcgraw- hill.com/sites/0073190764/student_view0/index.html Objectives : The objective of the course is to provide information and experience that will allow increased understanding and appreciation of the visual arts and architecture throughout history and in the present. Instruction Method/Mode of Delivery : The primary mode of delivery is online via Blackboard. Student Requirements : Chapter Discussion Questions : Chapter discussion questions will be posted on the discussion board. Students will post relevant material on the discussion board with a requirement of three postings minimum. There will be fifteen discussion questions. Discussion questions will be posted by Monday morning and be available through the following Saturday till 11:55 P.M.* To receive credit all associated postings must be completed during the week the questions are posted. One discussion board grade will be dropped and the remaining fourteen will be averaged to determine the discussion board average grade.
