The research in my article was done for Posttraumatic Stress Symptoms in College Students with a Chronic Illness. It was done by Lamia P. Barakat and Ericka L. Wodka at Drexel University in Philadelphia. This experiment was done by 195 participants all who have a chronic illness or have experienced a major life event and all of who were in college representing all grades with a mean age of 20.16 years. Learning disabilities and mental illness was excluded. All participants took a series of five tests and surveys like the Life Orientation test and the Beck Anxiety Inventory to measure the amount of anxiety, stress, and the students thought of life itself. According to the researchers, the students in this sample did not meet the criteria for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder caused by their illness or life experience. The rate of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder was low however the rate of reoccurring symptoms and significant interference with functioning was high. Also, most students were mildly
