1. Aerobic training – Exercise that increases the body’s capacity to use oxygen. 2. Anabolic steroids – Synthetic male hormones used to increase muscle size and strength. 3. Cool-down – Light or mild exercise immediately following competition or a training session; the primary purpose is to speed the removal of lactic acid from the muscles and allow the body to gradually return to a resting state. 4. Creatine – 5. Endorphins and enkephalins – Morphine like substances that are secreted by the brain that mitigate pain; produced during strenuous exercise and childbirth. 6. Endurance – The ability to work out over a period of time without fatigue. 7. Ephedra – The herb that is a stimulant. 8. Epinephrine – Hormone secreted principally by the adrenal medulla with a wide variety of functions, such as stimulating the heart, making carbohydrates available in the liver and muscles, and releasing fat from fat cells. 9. Fitness – The extent to which the body can respond to the demands of physical effort.
