1. Describe the physical benefits of physical activity. Physical activity contributes to health and well-being and lowers the risk of many diseases, including heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, osteoporosis obesity, and colon cancer. Physical activity increases your ability to overcome fatigue, cope effectively with stress, and fight off colds and other infections by boosting the immune system. Physical activity also puts into life the good feelings and enjoyment that come from movement. Physical activity helps you sleep better, eat better and reduce alcohol consumption. Physical activity also increases self respect and improves our physical appearance. 2. Describe the health benefits of physical activity. Physical activity has many good health benefits. Physical activity lowers the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and heart attacks. Physical activity increases the strength of the heart muscle; increase flow of blood to the heart; increases bone mass and resistance to osteoporosis; decreased amount of fat in the blood; decreased heart rate; increased longevity; maintenance of normal blood pressure and reduction in blood pressure in people with hypertension; maintenance of body weight within generally accepted normal limits; prevention and alleviation of chronic low-back pain; improved
