E-mail: , Phone: 215-895-6767 Course Description: Students will learn the fundamentals of machine component design such as general design rules, load analysis, materials, stress analysis, failure theories and safety factors. They will mainly study design guidelines and mathematical models for: fasteners and power screws, springs, bearings, gears, shafts, clutches and brakes. Students will have an opportunity to do a comprehensive design project such as a gear transmission mechanism, using learned knowledge. Text Book:
