- 1 - 1. (20 points) Create a project for the WashU-1 processor that contains all the components (top, cpu and support). In the sources menu, right-click on the cpu module, then select “Set as Top Module” and then generate a synthesis report for the CPU. Look at the device utilization summary section of the synthesis report to determine how many flip flops are present in the processor. Study the VHDL to determine where all the flip flops come from, and give a detailed accounting of the number of flip flops. You may need to study the entire synthesis report to fully understand the number reported in the device utilization summary. Now, right-click on the top module and select “Set as Top Module” again. Obtain a new synthesis report. Look at the HDL synthesis section of the report to determine the number of flip flops in each of the different circuit modules. Add to the reported numbers of flip flops, the number needed for the state machines, assuming a one-hot encoding is used. Also,
