Compare and Contrast 2 Psychoanalysis and Humanistic Approach There are many schools of thought in psychology that have influenced our knowledge and perception of psychology that we have to today. One of the most influential people in psychology was Sigmund Freud who was the founder of psychodynamic approach. Freud believed that people are basically motivated to gratify biological drives. S.A. (2005) Freud had a tremendous impact on psychology there were others who contributed to the development of Humanistic psychology like Abraham Maslow for instance. Maslow argued that people also have a conscious need for self actualization to be all that they can be and that people can see the world as at is S. A. (2005). Personally I agree more with the humanistic approach to psychology I feel that it is better understood and can easily be compared to your own life.
