You are the Consultant 2 You are the Consultant Many business owners ask themselves: How can I increase job satisfaction, improve motivation, and increase performance across departments? What are the factors to be considered when assembling a “high performance team” in this situation? An employee’s job performance satisfaction is impacted by many factors. Initially, one must truly enjoy the work he or she is doing to assist in the desire to even be at work in the first place. Job dissatisfaction typically takes place when there is a poor work environment such as being too hot, too cold, both temperature wise and among the employees peer groups. People enjoy going to work at a facility where one can have a least some enjoyment while being there. Being able to improve the overall satisfaction, motivation and enhanced performance comes from one of three areas: A job, a career, a calling. When an employee considers his or her work, a job, one would believe the individual is basically, in it for the money. When someone is working towards a career, it can often begin with a job and grow into advancing on the corporate ladder. Lastly, there comes a time when a job or career, can turn into a calling, where less focus is place don the financial gain and more on the fulfillment of the tasks at hand being completed and growing with a company. By reaching out to the employees, the key to motivation is to build a solid foundation. Ask employees for his or her input, create teams where influential people can lead their peers because it a commoner doing the leading. Create a buzz, sense of urgency to get the employees excited about their job, explain how they impact the bottom line. Create a positive environment by being positive, staying on time when completing

You are the Consultant 3 projects. However, when matching employees to positions it will always benefit the company to get the right person in the right position. If something is working, move the staff around. Better yet, cross train everyone on every position to see where the best talent lies. Additionally, make the work environment fun.
