To persuade someone who has “bugitis” or a farmer whose crops are devoured by insect pests, I would tell them that insects play a very important role in sustainability because they consume a lot of what producers produce, provide much of the food that consumers higher on the food chain eat, and recycle nutrients in the biosphere. 2. Two reasons for appreciating green plants would be that they provide oxygen for the air and that they provide food for primary consumers. To make a bumper sticker, the paper and the ink are needed. Paper comes from trees, which are green plants, and the ink comes from squids in the ocean, which consume green plants under water. Therefore, the bumper sticker is a sound application of the slogan “Have you thanked a green plant today?” 3. Microbes are the real rulers of the ear because they are what keep us alive. They convert nitrogen gas in the atmosphere into forms that plants can
