The movements of tectonic plates, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and climate change contribute to the earth’s ability to adapt to changes in environmental conditions by allowing species to move to different continents and form new species, destroying and providing habitats for certain species, or separating populations of species which could lead to the formation of new species. All of these reasons explain how earth is able to adapt to changes with various environmental conditions. 2. Biological evolution by natural selection involves the change in a population’s genetic makeup through successive generations. While it is a theory, it is the most widely accepted scientific explanation of how life on earth has developed as a result of natural selection. 3. The statement that we should not worry about air pollution because natural selection will enable humans to develop lungs that can detoxify pollutants is false. This is not true
