Alison Arnold Alison Arnold 7 November 2009 5 th hour Analysis for SSR Project The book It Happened to Nancy edited by Beatrice Sparks, Ph.D. reminds me of a couple of songs. Such as Happy Ending by Avril Lavigne, The Climb by Mliey Cyrus, and Because of you by Kelly Clarkson. They are alike because the all talk about an obstacle that someone is going through; in the book she gets raped and contracts the disease AID’s. They aren’t exactly the same but they have some meaningful lyrics. The song Happy Ending by Avril Lavigne relates to the story in many ways. In the lyrics: All this time you were pretending/ So much for my happy ending, relates to the book because Collin was pretending that he was a college student and 24 years old. Another lyric is: you were everything, everything/That I wanted/ We were meant to be, supposed to be/But we lost it, relates to the book because Collin said that he’s never been so in love and that they were perfect for each other. There is another line of lyrics
