Introduction In section A of our lab, we had to use a capacitive probe and with the data that we collected from the probe, make a calibration curve and use a digital oscilloscope to determine the liquid levels in the tank. In section B of our lab, we had to use a gage pressure transducer to measure the liquid level, by using an integrated electronic transducer, hardware and software necessary for data acquisition, treatment and control, then making a calibration curve from that data. In section C of our lab, we had to observe signal conditioning in action by using a simple RC filter. So we can understand how to use it and the effect of signal conditioning on a noisy signal. Capacitive probe is a measurement of a liquid level because as the liquid level rises between the armatures of the capacitor, the capacitance value increases as well. Therefore the capacitance can be a way of determining the liquid level. The gage pressure transducer measures the pressure difference between the surrounding air and inside the tube, by finding the difference of the pressures we can assume that its a measure of the liquid level inside the vessel.
