Topics include the Sun, all the planets and their moons, planetary rings, asteroids, comets, meteoroids, star constellations, and history of the development of astronomy. We also discuss Newton's laws, gravitation, Kepler's Laws, methods for celestial observation (telescopes, the electromagnetic spectrum), celestial coordinates, the radiative and spectral properties of light. For inspiration, videos, demonstrations and field trips to science centers and space museums are incorporated into the course. After the course, students should have a basic
