Executive Summary The objective of this given project was to write a computer program that analyzes a water system dependent on a lake and then monitor the water level within it. The system begins at an aquifer that collects precipitation seasonally to refill the lake so it lies between 45 and 75 meters. From this point, the dam releases controlled amounts of water to the river that supplies different sites. The first site to obtain water is a manufacturing facility that only dispenses an equal amount of pollutant back into the river in monthly intervals. The concentration of pollutant in the water must then be measured to determine whether or not the concentration is below 1% before it continues to the next site; if the concentration is too high water from the lake is released into the river until the water reaches the desired concentration. The water then approaches the farm that only withdraws monthly. Prior to the river’s final destination, the water is again tested to ensure that the pollutant concentration now falls below 0.5%. The urban population acquires a controlled amount of water each month. A secondary water source supplies the river with water, prior to the urban population, that either dilutes the river or supplies enough for the population’s needs.
