(WED) nature, divine, ways to understand law and justice Exodus: penalty for wrongdoing should be equal to the crime. The punishment should match the crime Matthew: is the intent to foster revenge. Acknowledges that the law in Exodus, can be held by judges. The NT brings new conducts between individuals. It is a law for indulgence, and all you have to worry about is yourself, letting God (judges) taking care of other human beings. Your responsibility is to take care of your own soul. Job: Melian Dialogue: Contemporary politics. Whoever is in that power to negotiate has the right/power to say what is just. (Justice is a matter of determination-whoever has the power gets to say what is just and moral). Athenians decide that you cannot have neutral identities. (He who is not with us is against us)
