Orgs 7 Notes: Arab League -organizations based only on cultural commonalities: 1. Arab League 2. Organization of American States 3. African Union -the Arab league got together since they were all Arab and wanted some sort of unification -Arab is an ethnicity and language not a religion (although most are Islamic) -the Arab league started in 1945 and the original members were -Egypt -Iraq -Jordan -Lebanon -Saudi Arabia -Syria -Yemen -It has expanded to include 22 states -it has 4 observer states -the official definition of the league: “To draw closer the relations between member states and coordinate collaboration between them to safe guard their independence and sovereignty and to consider in a general way the affairs and interests of the Arab peoples and countries.” -the problem is this group has accomplished almost nothing and they still fight -the arab league kicked Egypt out after they recognized Israel although they were let back in -Libya leader muammar gaddafi quite the league at one point -muammar used to dress in middle eastern traditional clothing but now wears African traditional clothing -the Arab league should have more voice than they do because they contain most of the OPEC countries with oil in them since they can enact a lot of oil restrictions -there’s only more wealth disparity and poverty in the middle east -they still could have a big voice if they did work together

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
