Please write down your solutions clearly and concisely, box your
answers, bind pages in order.

Turn in your copies to Sheila Shull at 217 Firestone by 5:00pm,
Dec 8th, 2009.

Extensions are ONLY granted in medical or extreme cases by
Prof. Owhadi. Please contact directly Prof. Owhadi at least
one day before the due day for extension. NO TA can give
extensions.
4.
Honor Code is in eﬀect. You may talk to, or collaborate with
each other, but you must write solutions by yourself.
5.
There are ﬁve problems, three long problems, each of which
worths 30 points, and two short and simple problems, each of
which worths 20 points. The maximumn points available are
130, but 100 points are considered full credit for this homework
and HALF of points above 100 are considered bonus points (i.e.,
maximum 15 points) and will be counted into your ﬁnal grade.
6.
This homework will be graded by all of three TAs. Panna is in
charge of Problem 1, 2, Mulin is of Problem 3, 4 and Molei is
of Problem 5. If you have questions regarding gradings, please
direct your questions to the corresponding TA.
7.
If you have questions regarding the problem itself, all of three
TAs can answer it, but you are encouraged to contact the cor
responding TA.
