Platt 1 BIBLIOGRAPHY Schlosser, Eric. “Your Trusted Friends.” They Say/I Say. Graff, Gerald, and Birkenstein, Cathy. Schlosser’s article discusses advertising tactics directed towards kids, a business which exploded in the 1980s. He explains how advertising to children has developed into an art aimed at urging kids to convince their parents in precise ways as well as making clients for life. This article ends with consideration to how quickly food has become integrated in several public schools. Fast-food corporations pay to advertise in schools, while soda businesses sell their product in schools. Schools severely in need of money find themselves in a hard position of concern for their students’ fitness and concern for their students’ educational needs. Story, Mary, and Simone French. "Food Advertising and Marketing Directed at Children and Adolescents in the US." International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (2004).
