People who have engaged in violent acts, and then you ask about their upbringing . But people may wish to rationalize their actions by saying they were beat up by kids. That correlational research doesn ’ t allow you to talk about causality. Retrospective in nature. Data is a little muddy. If you have been exposed to inter-parental violence or you ’ ve been beaten up yourself, that creates a vulnerability and puts you at risk for being violent. Many reasons for this... one of which could be modeling . If you have parents who handle con¡ict with each other not by talking/planning/problem solving/communicating with a degree of calm... then you have probably not learned to use words in the face of serious interpersonal con¡ict. Learning to communicate is all stuff your learn in the home... you also learn it outside of the home, but if you don ’ t have a basis “Don ’ t just beat your younger brother over the head with a book bag, he could be dead. t just beat your younger brother over the head with a book bag, he could be dead....
