Trevor Nestor Period 4 Epic Poem “Looking for the Theory of Everything” In the dense inner forest by the bog, Where the sun does not shine and no one stays, The area infested by dart frogs, There’s a choking smell where they dance and play, That permeates the thick bushes each day. In such places there is no summer breeze, There is no break from the stifling odor, And the darkness is the birds’ only peace, The fair golden sun will grant no order, Because the thick gray vines don’t let it in. Sometimes the owner of this vacancy, Is found strolling its infinite hallways, Its noxious vapors rob his decency, And he goes mad in the expansive maze, Refusing the clear stream’s sober advice. Deep in the forest a clear stream does flow, This stream is clear and flows to the exit, In the forest madness he does not know, His feet betray him; he feels no regret, Meanwhile the world seems to help him along.
