Unformatted text preview: Shirae Butler SBJ 10/13 ACC discusses selling tourney title by M ichael Smith The Atlantic Coast Conference is a force to reckon with when considering college basketball. Duke won the NCAA Championship last year, so it is a given that they will have a large fan base this year. Their ACC tournament will expect to be valued higher than other conferences in that area, and having a title sponsor is high exposer for a company. This is the first time the conference will be offering this sponsorship which is very behind compared to the Big 12 and PAC 10. They call it an “A-plus property.” Buying a title like this, a company has to be careful to get their money’s worth. I t is going to have a high price tag because of the status, but the main goal is to promote their company. Like we talked about in class, sometimes it’s not enough to just have your name on a product. To this day I don’t remember who was the title sponsor of last year’s Super Bowl. They should make they advertise a good association to what their company does.advertise a good association to what their company does....
