Experiment 2. Function Generator, Oscilloscope, and Frequency Counter 0. Preliminary Study A. Investigate the physical meanings and characteristics of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC). B. Investigate the principles of oscilloscope, function generators, and frequency counters. 1. Objective of Experiment A. To learn the operations of function generator, oscilloscope, and frequency counter. B. To understand the basic parameters such as input voltage, frequency, wave form, alternating current (AC), direct current (DC), etc. C. To practice the switches and knobs on the oscilloscope (GND, AC, DC, frequency, level, trigger, …) 2. Tasks A. To conduct a hands-on practice of oscilloscope, function generator , and frequency counter. B. To adjust various parameters (wave form, voltage, frequency, …) of output signals from function generators, and to compare with the measurements by frequency counter and oscilloscope.
