Kelley Krueger GLST 200/ Schur 22 September 2010 A Swan Fairytale There once was a field. A beautiful field, with many trees, lots of grass and in the middle, a magical lake. This lake wasn’t like any in the land; it could grant any wish, but only to the truly worthy. Every day the field was filled with many sheep. One sheep in particular was always the outsider and never really one to follow the herd. All the other sheep never really paid her much attention, and let her be on her own. One day this lonely sheep saw a beautiful swan land in the lake. The sheep admired the swan’s beautiful feathers, its majestic wings; she imagined what it would be like to fly away from the field and see the wonders of the world-far away from the monotony of grazing grass. Voicing her dreams, though, turned out to be a bad idea. All the other sheep began telling her that the swan in the lake, while very beautiful is also very dangerous. None of the sheep believed she could even be with the beautiful swan because they were so different. The more the
