Taryn Lopez June 15, 2009 Outline A. Goal Setting B. To convince my class to effectively set a process for setting goals. C. Setting goals can lead to motivation that improves your performance and productivity. I’m sure many of you have either asked yourself or been asked, “Where do you see yourself in five years? It is a phrase commonly used to reveal what you hope to achieve in your future. However, we all know that things don’t always go as planned, but I am going to help you prevent failing at the things you can control. Today I am going to tell you how to successfully set and achieve goals to improve your personal and professional performance. The Journal of Applied Science published an article called “The Effects of Group Feedback, Goal Setting, and Incentives on Organizational Productivity.” A study was done on a group of employees by measuring their productivity at the routine level and comparing it with a 15 month period of group based goal setting, feedback and incentives.
