Global health is the concept of healthcare in an international and interdisciplinary context. It
plays an increasingly crucial role in both global security and security of the U.S. population. As
the world and its economies become increasingly globalized, including extensive international
travel and commerce, it is necessary to think about health in a global context (Healthy people,
2020).
The ravaging global health issue at the moment is COVID-19. The virus causes illnesses
ranging from common cold to more severe diseases like acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and
Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS)
(WHO, 2020).
