Hartmann’s pouch – abn. Diverticulum of the neck, between junctional fold and neck Junctional fold – fold between body and neck – ( infundibulum (cystic duct)), most common variant - The CBD joins the Duct of Wirsung at the ampula of vater in the 2 nd portion of the duodenum controlled by the sphincter of oddi. Wall thicknening causes: cholecystitis, hypoalbuminemia, ascities, congestive heart failure, pancreatitis Jaundice: Medical Jaundice (nonobstructive) – Hepatic Jaundice - due to hepatic disease - ex. Hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis Hemolytic Jaundice (UNCONJUGATED BILIRUBIN) – increase in rbc destruction… ….ex. sickle cell anemia Surgical Jaundice ( obstructive) (CONJUGATED BILIRUBIN) - ex.
