Scrotum - 7.5 MHZ, linear - flow – seminiferous tubules – tubuli recti – rete testis – efferent ductules – ductus epididymis – vas deferens - tunica albuginea – testicle surrounded by fibrous capsule - mediastinum testis – echogenic linear band - seminiferous tubules – production of sperm, and testosterone (leydig cells) - Epididymis – parallel to testicle, head is located adjacent to the superior pole of testis- where the efferent ductules converge – the tail courses cephlad as the vas deferens, isoechogenic to slightly hyperechoic to testis - appendix testis – remnant of the mullerian duct – located beneath head of epididymis - scrotal raphe – division of the two scrotal chambers – dartos is the muscle that divides it - Blood flow – deferential artery, cremasteric artery, testicular artery – divides into capsular centripedal - Spermatic Cord – Vas deferens, (cremasteric, deferential, testicular arteries) , pampiniform plexus of veins, lymphatics, nerves Tunica vaginalis – extension of the peritoneum into scrotal chambers. -
