Prostate - arterial supply – internal iliac artery - Peripheral zone – MC area of most prostate cancer - Central zone – ejaculatory duct pass through this zone - Transitional zone – site of origin of benign prostatic hyperplasia - Fibromuscular stroma – anterior to urethra, not affected by cancer, prostatitis or hyperplasia - Gleason score – system of grading - preparation for Biopsy : cleansing enema, antibiotics , pt is placed in lt lateral lithotomy or knee-elbow position - Benign Prostate Hyperplasia – (BPH) – enlargement of prostate, in periuretheral and transitional zone -symptoms- difficult voiding, urinary frequency, small stream - Prostate Cancer – age, race(African American ), genetics, elevation of PSA > 4.0ng/ ml Spleen - peritoneal, between stomach and diaphragm, largest lymphoid organ - splenomegaly - >12cm - fundus of stomach and lesser sac are medial and anterior to the splenic hilum. Tail of panc is located posterior to stomach and lesser sac as it approaches splenic hilum. Tail located anterior to UP of lt kid
