Tuesday, October 12 - Monday, October 18, 2010 Techniques: Extraction, Filtration, Drying and Evaporation of Solvents Category: Purification In this experiment we will extract caffeine from tea leaves while learning several new laboratory techniques, including extraction, filtration, drying of solvent, and solvent evaporation. These techniques are essential purification and separation methods for laboratory work. We will be saving our extracted caffeine for next week’s lab, so extract carefully.
