Amanda Michalski Zach Petrea English 101 Oct. 6, 2010 Drug Abuse in Society One of the major problems in society is the abuse of drugs. Some people use illicit drugs that have no medical purposes. While other people abuse prescription drugs for nonmedical use. Both ways are very unhealthy and hazardous for people and have major consequences. A drug user suffers from, mental, physical and financial consequences because of abusing drugs. People who abuse drugs in society today suffer from many physical problems. Drug users often have physical pain. When abusing drugs the drug use must have said drug often enough so they don’t go though withdrawals that causes the drug use a lot of physical pain. Also, the drug use suffers from physical consequences from their peers’ point of view. Drug users tend to Stop attending school, lose their jobs, and/ or even stop seeing family and friends in order to keep using.
