Manda Michalski Zach Petrea English 101 Oct. 14,2010 ShowTime series Weeds “Weeds” is a ShowTime series that first aired in 2005. The Show is a dark comedy-drama that was created by Jenji Kohan. The show Weeds is a good example of how drugs are affecting society today. Weeds deals with conflicts of drug abuse, drug trafficking, and drug violence. After each episode the viewer slower gets a good view of how drugs can negatively affect a community. The show starts with a single mother, Nancy Botwin who finds herself supporting her family by selling drugs because her husband died. As the episodes go all she finds herself in all different kinds of conflicts dealing with drugs in society. When the series “Weeds” begun it mainly dealt with selling and growing marijuana in the community of Agrestic, California. As the show grew it started to deal with the dangerous of drug trafficking between America and Mexico. In the newer seasons of the show “Weeds” It deals the violence and the problems cause when one gets deep into the ugly lifestyle of people who are involved with drugs.
